Lem is one of our OG's at Crossfit Meriden. He has been attending the 5:15 a.m. regularly since we opened and right after he had his first child. At times he would come in and say I was up all night but I had to get here and workout. If he is missing at a class everyone is asking if there is something wrong with him or did something happen. He has shown tremendous support at several competitions coming to cheer on athletes competing all over the state. Lem is a staple to our community and we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful person as part of our community.
How long have you done CrossFit?
I've been here since the very beginning. It's great to have a community like crossfit in Meriden.
What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself since you started CrossFit?
I've always been a health conscious person, but since CrossFit, I've really tried to dial in my eating habits. My wife and I typically make food that's more natural, especially having a little one. My daughter loves vegetables.
What do you like about it?
What's not to like? Aside from the varied workouts we do, it's amazing to watch others surpass there limits in fitness. I'm not sure which I like more, the workouts or the people I do it with.
Favorite CrossFit movement?
Overhead squats, because it's so hard. It hurts everywhere and it's very technical.
Thrusters. It's a love hate relationship.
What would you recommend to someone who is just starting out with CrossFit or is too afraid to try it?
It's very intimidating at first, but once you dive right into it, you're hooked.
