Matt always comes prepared for the daily WOD, ready to ask and answer questions related to movement and reps. He’s the kind of athlete that keeps you on your toes. Matt is a great CrossFit partner to other athletes at the box and a great team player. He is consistent and works really hard. Matt has improved a lot and recently conquered the Bar Muscle Up, one of his longtime goals. Awesome job Matt! Also congratulations on your weight loss journey. Keep it up!
What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself since you started CrossFit?
I’m definitely stronger than I’ve been in a long time, probably ever. I’m a morning person now! As hard as it is to wake up every morning at 4:45, I have more energy throughout the day than ever.
What do you like about it?
Pretty much everything (except burpees!), the motivation you get from being in a class of people all doing the same workout is the best. It also forces me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things that I never thought I would be able to do.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Probably hang cleans.
What would you say to someone who wants to try it?
Definitely try it! The other members are so supportive and helpful during the classes that it makes anyone feel welcome.
What is something people might not know about you?
A few years ago my younger daughter was taking dance lessons, you know the ones that end their year with a big huge recital… About half way into it I found out that as part of the recital the dads were doing a dance. It was optional, but my daughter really wanted me to do it, so with about a dozen other dads I took about 4 months of tap lessons. I’m not a good dancer and the lessons didn’t really help!
