Amina is truly a max effort worker and gives her best every class. She applies that same work ethic whenever she has time after class to work on special skills. She is a coaches dream because not only does she come to class ready to work, she can also take coaches cues and apply them immediately to perfect her technique. What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself since you started CrossFit?
The biggest change I’ve noticed is my ability to push myself. To just try things and movements I haven’t done before without second guessing.
What do you like about it?
I like the variety and results that can be achieved through consistency. Tracking my workouts and seeing improvement the next time I do a movement, whether it’s form or being able to do more weight, feels like a real accomplishment. Also the coaches are great about pushing you and making sure you do your best.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Back squats are my favorite, because I’ve probably worked the most on them, in terms of form. I am also partial to cleans, even though I’m a work in progress when it comes to them! It’s also my current favorite because I just had a Cleans PR.
What would you say to someone who wants to try it?
I would tell them that they should definitely give it a shot, and they will most likely love it and come back! Also to the people that are more hesitant I would say don’t believe the hype or stereotype and come see CrossFit for yourself. You may not feel your legs the next day, but you’ll survive!
What is something people might not know about you?
I love true crime, supernatural and murder podcasts! Whenever I have headphones on, I’m most likely listening to a podcast on one of those topics. I’m also a hard core Harry Potter fan, but let’s not get started on that.
