Kris is a fierce quiet ninja who is always willing to help out in our community. The positive energy he brings to every class makes everyone want to push themselves harder. He is always willing to help out whenever he can. He is very appreciative of our coaches and their feedback. As an athlete he is always pushing himself further outside his comfort zone and growing because of it. He certainly loves Tough Mudders and if you’re looking to do one he will be the first to help. You certainly know when he is in your class because he has some of the best one-liners around. We are extremely thankful we have him in our community!
How did you hear about CrossFit Meriden?
Through a friend.
Why did you start at CrossFit Meriden?
I just finished my time with a personal trainer; although I learned a lot I wanted something that was little more motivating. When I took my first on ramp class I knew I made the right choice.
What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself since you started CrossFit?
A big boost in self confidence and being to do more i.e. running, lifting , and yes burpees. I also learned it's okay to fail as long you get back up and try again.
What do you like about it?
The team/family atmosphere. I never met so many people that are willing to help others do better. Whether helping with their diet, learn a specific movement or just motivating people to be better than what they are.
What is your favorite CrossFit movement? Why?
Deadlifts and rowing. If I'm having a bad day deadlifts just make everything feel better and rowing well it's the one thing I do well so I'm going to hang onto that for as long as I can.
What would you say to someone who wants to try it?
To steal a quote "when was the last time you did something for the first time"
Just go and try it, stop sitting on the couch and wondering about it.
What is something people might not know about you?
I'm a huge history nerd to the point were I was on a high school team "like mathletes" but for history.
