Success Story: Jennifer Robisheaux

How did you hear about CrossFit Meriden?

I saw a flier at my job for a fall special that was going on.

Why did you start at CrossFit Meriden?

My brother has his own box in Texas, and Crossfit has been something he has been extremely passionate about for as long as I can remember. When I first stepped into his box, seeing the community and support from everyone was something that I have never experienced before in any other gym. To me, seeing the flier at my job was a sign and I felt it was something I needed to try!

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself since you started CrossFit?

I have seen incredible changes both physically and mentally. I am lifting weight I never knew I would be able to lift, but the biggest change would definitely be the changes I have seen mentally. I feel so much less stressed and anxious, and CrossFit has been a form of therapy to me.

What do you like about it?

I absolutely love how challenging every single workout is. I never feel that I am breezing through a workout and being challenged and overcoming something new and difficult, and having the feeling of accomplishment is one of the best feelings I have experienced.

What is your favorite CrossFit movement? Why?

My favorite movement would be Thrusters. I absolutely hated them when I first started but I love how challenging they are and how I feel when I'm doing them. And I feel that I progress with them each time we have to do them during a workout.

What would you say to someone who wants to try it?

I would say to give it a try no matter how uncomfortable it makes you. Nobody will judge you for being beginner, but everyone will respect you for your hard work and commitment. And normally, the things that make you uncomfortable are the things that we should do. Those are the things that help us grow and better ourselves. Give it a try, what do you really have to lose?

What is something people might not know about you?

I was incredible addicted to World of Warcraft for almost 4 years!
