CrossFit is not just about working out, it’s about becoming a community that supports each other, Diane is the definition of what CrossFit stands for!  Here is an interview with Diane:

How did you learn about CrossFit/CFME?

I work for ION Bank and attend Meriden Chamber events. I saw that there was a Business After Hours being held at CrossFit Meriden and decided to check it out.

How long have you done CrossFit?

I started in February of 2014.

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself since you started CrossFit?

I like that the WOD is different every day and if there is a movement I cannot do, the coaches give me a modification.

What do you like about it?

I feel so much better about myself and I have lots of energy.

Favorite CrossFit movement?

Plank

Least favorite?

That’s hard-which do I choose? Either wall balls or burpees.

What would you recommend to someone who is just starting out with CrossFit or is too afraid to try it?

Don’t be afraid. When I attended the BAH and saw people doing hand-stand push-ups, I thought I will never be able to do that. Well, I still can’t do HPSUs, but I can do so many other things that I never thought I could do. The other athletes celebrate each other’s accomplishments – big or small. And that is what I truly love about CFME – the camaraderie.

What do you do when you are not here? (Your profession.)

I am a mortgage originator. I love to quilt, garden and I’m an active member of the Berlin Lions Club.

Name something about yourself that’s a little known fact.

I am a certified master gardener.
