What classes do you coach? CrossFit, On Ramp, and adult fitness through the Y
How did you get involved in CrossFit?
I started in 2017 after some of my friends had been doing it for a while. Prior to CrossFit I was a strength athlete; Powerlifting, bodybuilding, football. After running virtually everyday while in the Army, I had abandoned most cardio from my routine. I needed forced cardio and thought CrossFit could be the answer. Since joining, I’ve competed in competitions both in-house and at other gyms. I now compete in Olympic weightlifting events as well.
What do you love about it?
CrossFit requires you to function outside of your comfort zone until that movement becomes your comfort zone. I immediately gravitated to the Olympic Lifting side of CrossFit. I have met some incredible people that have grown to become like family. The community aspect of CrossFit is like none other. It’s something that you would never find in your standard commercial gym.
